Previously on the hills…
Stephanie was embarking on a new fake relationship.
Lo was pretending she was going to get engaged in her real relationship.
Audrina continued to be completely irrelevant to this season of the show (sorry, but even Ryan Cabrera couldn’t save her)
And Kristin was being dumped for Avril Lavigne.
The four fake friends are sitting around talking about how much they have grown up. Stephanie says she finally feels happy, but Audrina doesn’t know what true happiness feels like, but thinks she’ll find it if she leaves Hollywood (a rational decision for Audrina?!). Kristin is ready for change, and Lo wants babies!
Roll credits!
HEIDI WHERE ARE YOU!?!?!?
How did a show about four girlfriends living in LA come to focus on three toolbagish guys who use the phrase “flavor of the week” in their everyday conversation?
Stephanie and Lo go shopping to talk about her new fake boyfriend, or almost-boyfriend. Lo tells Stephanie that she should put herself out there, because hey, she’ll get more camera time!
Meanwhile, Kristin talks to that bartender who Spencer flirted with that one time about her talk with Brody. Kristin is jealous that everyone else is grown-up and she isn’t, so she has decided she is going to move to…Europe?! WHAT? This isn’t real. Stacie says that Brody will probably think she is moving because of him. Um…isn’t she?
Stephanie goes to watch her new fake almost-boyfriend ride a dirt bike. She says that he “like races motorcycles, but is like a carebear.” Yeah…then they decide to take their fake relationship to the next step.
Kristin goes to Brody’s condo to tell him about her big move. Where is Avril hiding? She invites him to her going away party, but he says he doesn’t want to celebrate her leaving.
Audrina takes Stephanie to show her the SAWEET house she just bought on the beach. Seriously, I want to live here. They talk about some stuff (I don’t know, I stopped listening), and Audrina decides she is not going to Kristin’s party.
At Kristin’s party, it’s business as usual. Everyone sits awkwardly because they don’t know how to have real conversations with each other, and Kristin pouts. But then…Brody arrives (in slow motion! No? Was that just in my head?) They both cry and he tells her not to leave...don’t worry! It’s not real!
The next day, Lo and Scott talk about getting married again. Be rational Lo!! Although the fact that Scott has barely appeared on camera makes me believe he is normal. So it wouldn't be the worst thing, I guess.
We finally arrive to the final scene, Kristin getting picked up to go to the airport. She says bye to her “bestie” Stacie and then…Brody arrives!! (again). He tells her that if he had known him dating someone else would make her leave, he never would have done it. I hope Avril isn’t watching. They say their “final” goodbye (don’t worry guys, you’ll see each other at the After Show!)
As Kristin gets into the car, a montage of clips plays (with a slow jams version of unwritten! Effective!)
LAUREN!
WHITNEY!
HEIDI’S OLD FACE!!!!!!!
STEPHEN COLLETI!!!
Then the camera begins to pan out from Brody and…WHAT?! They pull a set out from behind him?! WHAT?! They are on a backlot of a hollywood studio?! So this whole show was fake!??!?!?!?
Listen MTV, I know I didn’t think that this was real, but I didn’t want you to admit that! So does this mean everything is fake? Did Lauren and Heidi even live in that really cute apartment in the first 2 seasons? Are Lauren and Whitney friends? Does Heidi have a human face?!!? Is Spencer Pratt actually NOT a major douchelord?!
So many unanswered questions. Some of which were probably addressed on the aftershow, but I was too tired for that.
Goodbye forever, Hills!
I can't believe the end!
